Lahore: Former head coach of Pakistan Test cricket team Jason Gillespie, while calling the current head coach of the national team Aqib Javed a clown, revealed that he was running a behind-the-scenes campaign to become the coach.
Former Australian Test cricketer and former head coach of Pakistan Test team Jason Gillespie shared a story on the photo-sharing app ‘Instagram’ in which he made a barrage of allegations against the current head coach of the national team Aqib Javed.
Jason Gillespie said that Aqib Javed was damaging the reputation of former head coach of the national white-ball team Gary Kirsten and me.
He revealed that Aqib Javed was running a behind-the-scenes campaign to become the coach of the Pakistan cricket team in all formats because he wanted to become the coach of all three formats.
Finally, Jason Gillespie called Aqib Javed’s recent statement surprising and called him a joker.
It should be noted that in December last year, the PCB decided not to extend the contract of assistant coach Tim Nelson for the tour of South Africa, due to which the then head coach Jason Gillespie became angry with the PCB and refused to go to South Africa.
On which the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appointed Aqib Javed as the interim head coach of the national Test cricket team.
Earlier, in November 2024, the PCB had appointed Aqib Javed as the interim head coach of the national white-ball team until the Champions Trophy.
In October 2024, the head coach of the Pakistan white-ball team, Gary Kirsten, resigned from his position. He resigned due to differences with the PCB and selection committee member Aqib Javed.
