Will not play bilateral cricket series with Pakistan in the future, BCCI Vice President

London: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice President Rajiv Shukla has refused to play a bilateral series with Pakistan in the future.

According to the Indian newspaper Hindustan Times, India and Pakistan last faced each other in a bilateral series in the 2012-13 season, India last visited Pakistan in the Asia Cup in 2008.

The Indian cricket team has not visited Pakistan for a bilateral series since the 2005-06 season.

BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla, while announcing his decision after the Pahalgam attack in Kashmir, said that bilateral cricket between India and Pakistan will no longer be played.

He said that we will not play a bilateral series with Pakistan.

Rajiv Shukla said that we are with the victims of the Pahalgam attack, and we condemn it, we will do whatever our government says, we will not play a bilateral series with Pakistan because of the government’s stance, and we will not play a bilateral series with Pakistan even going forward.

He said that when it comes to ICC events, we play because of the ICC’s busy schedule, the ICC also knows what is happening.

Meanwhile, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia also expressed similar views and said that the cricketing community is facing deep shock and grief over the tragic loss of innocent lives in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

He said that while strongly condemning this heinous and cowardly act by the BCCI, I offer my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the deceased. We are with them in every hour of this tragedy in sharing their pain and sorrow.

It may be recalled that recently, the BCCI took steps to pay tribute to the Indians who died in the Mumbai attacks during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

A moment of silence was observed in the stadium during the IPL ceremony and the players also wore black armbands.
