Paris: A high-level French intelligence official has confirmed that Pakistan shot down an Indian Air Force Rafale fighter jet.
Jim Sciuto, anchor and security expert for the American broadcaster CNN, said on the social networking website X that a high-level French intelligence official has confirmed that a Rafale jet was shot down.
He said that a high-level French intelligence official told CNN that a Rafale fighter jet of the Indian Air Force was shot down by Pakistan.
He added that ‘this would mean that this is the first time that a modern French-made fighter jet has been damaged in combat.’
In his post, the American news anchor said that Pakistan claimed on Wednesday that it had shot down 5 Indian Air Force aircraft, including 3 Rafale jets.
He further wrote that ‘according to Pakistani officials, this action was taken in response to air strikes carried out by India’, however, there has been no response from Indian officials to these claims so far.
According to the tweet, the French official further told CNN that the relevant French authorities are investigating whether Pakistan shot down more than one Rafale jet last night.
It should be noted that the Pakistani armed forces shot down 5 warplanes, including 3 Rafales, of the Indian Air Force in response to India’s cowardly attack last night.
