Tehran: Israel attacked the Iranian capital on Friday morning, after which Tehran resonated with explosions. Israel says it has targeted Iran’s nuclear and military facilities.
According to the Associated Press news agency, the attack came at a time when tensions have reached a peak over Tehran’s rapid progress on its nuclear program.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned that Israel will “suffer severe consequences” after deadly attacks on Tehran and the Islamic Republic, including on its nuclear facilities. “With this crime, the Zionist regime has set itself up for a bitter and painful end, and it will surely receive it,” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in a statement, according to the French news agency AFP.
