The US may declare a unilateral ceasefire, Israeli officials claim

International Reporter Daily Dawn + Dawn TV Report

Washington: Israeli officials have claimed that the US may declare a unilateral ceasefire and Israel is considering the American option.

According to the Times of Israel, Ronen Bergman, a well-known journalist for the Israeli news agency ‘YNet’, has revealed that current and former senior officials of Israeli security agencies have said that the US is considering the option of declaring a unilateral ceasefire in Iran.

According to the report, the Israeli position has been that the survival or destruction of Iran’s nuclear facilities is now ‘not that important’, because as long as Israel and the US have air superiority over Iran, they can attack at any time if Iran resumes uranium enrichment or launches missiles.

According to the report, Israeli officials said that if the United States declares a unilateral ceasefire and Iran violates it, Israel and the United States could launch joint attacks on Iran’s key facilities or energy infrastructure.

The report also said that if Iran abides by the ceasefire, Iran will present it as a victory that forced the United States and Israel to bow down.

The report added that on the other hand, the United States and Israel would take the position that they have eliminated the Iranian nuclear threat, thus this option could provide an opportunity for both sides to get out of the conflict and could be a means of preventing further escalation of tensions in the region.
