Political reporter Daily Dawn + Dawn TV report

Beijing: An important meeting of the defense ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was held in the Chinese capital Beijing, but the joint declaration issued at the end of the meeting angered Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.

According to Indian media, Rajnath Singh refused to sign the joint declaration. The main reason for his displeasure is that there was no mention of the Pahalgam incident in the declaration.

According to Indian media reports, the SCO declaration also implied that India was indirectly spreading unrest in Balochistan, which caused great concern for New Delhi.

The meeting was attended by the defense ministers of China, Russia, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and other countries.

Dawn TV and DailyDawn sources report that the Indian delegation expressed its concerns; however, other member countries refused to make any changes to the declaration. After this, Rajnath Singh rejected the assertion by refusing to sign.
