Daily Dawn News Desk, Dawn TV Report

Kabul: Taliban Minister of Energy and Irrigation Abdul Latif Mansoor said that ‘Pakistan is opposed to any kind of stable central government in Afghanistan, be it of the Taliban, the Mujahideen or the Communists.’

Abdul Latif Mansoor alleged that ‘Islamabad deliberately incites internal division and crisis in Afghanistan to achieve its political and economic interests.’

A senior Taliban minister in Afghanistan’s interim government has claimed that Pakistan does not want to see a strong or independent Afghan government in Kabul, regardless of who holds the leadership.

Taliban Minister of Energy and Irrigation Abdul Latif Mansoor alleged in an interview with Shamshad News that ‘Pakistan is opposed to any kind of stable central government in Afghanistan, be it the Taliban, the Mujahideen or the communists.’

Abdul Latif Mansoor said: ‘Some of our neighbors, especially Pakistan, do not want a stable government in Afghanistan.’

The Afghan minister’s statement came at a time when Pakistani security forces had foiled an attempt by militants to cross the border with Afghanistan and enter Pakistan, killing 33 militants in an operation yesterday.
