Dhaka: Bangladesh has lifted the visa requirement for Pakistani officials for the first time since 1971 for 5 years.
Holders of diplomatic and official passports of Bangladesh and Pakistan will no longer need visas to travel between the two countries.
Bangladesh’s interim government, led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, has approved the mutual visa waiver agreement.
His press secretary, Shafiqul Islam, told a news conference in Dhaka that Bangladesh has similar agreements with 31 other countries.
Shafiqul Islam said that under this agreement, Pakistani officials will also be allowed to enter Bangladesh without a visa.
