Denmark: Unidentified drones were seen at night above the largest military base, the latest in a series of sightings that Danish authorities have described as ‘hybrid attacks’.
According to British media, several airports across the Scandinavian country have been closed due to these mysterious drone sightings, which have been ongoing since Monday, when the drones were first seen.
Duty Officer Simon Scaliseer told the media that I can confirm that we had an incident around 8:15 pm last night (11:15 pm Pakistani time), which lasted for a few hours. One to two drones were seen outside and above the base.
He said the police could not say where the drones came from, and that we did not shoot them down, adding that the police were cooperating with the military in the investigation.
The Karup military base shares its runways with Midtjylland’s civil airport, which was temporarily closed, but no flights were affected because no commercial flights were scheduled at the time.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said that Denmark had been the victim of hybrid attacks in recent days, which reflected unconventional warfare.
