Ashawa: A founding member of the Islamic Center in the Canadian city of Ashawa was murdered near a mosque.
80-year-old Ibrahim Bala, who was a founding member of the Islamic Center, was shot near a mosque. Police have launched an investigation, but the reasons for the murder are not yet known.
The Islamic Center management expressed regret in a statement, saying that “a respected member of our community lost his life near a mosque.”
The local Muslim community has demanded that the government conduct a transparent investigation into the incident and bring those responsible to justice as soon as possible.
