Toba Tek Singh: The Women’s Hockey Festival in Tek Singh has infused new enthusiasm among sports enthusiasts and young players. The festival management expressed its heartfelt gratitude for the valuable messages of affirmation and encouraging comments given by USA Junior Hockey Team Coach Muzammil Malik and USA Junior Hockey Team Player Arison. These thoughts were termed as a strong message of confidence, guidance, and courage for the girls and young players.
On the other hand, the Sahiwal Division Girls Hockey Team has reached Gojra under the supervision of Manager Shahzad Alamgir and Coach Tahir Mahmood. According to Manager Shahzad Alamgir, the team will play matches in Islamabad on December 27, Karachi on December 28, and Gojra Sports Ground on December 29. He expressed hope that the Sahiwal team will perform brilliantly and bring glory to the division like before, God willing.
The opening ceremony of the All Pakistan Gojra Hockey Tournament will be held from December 26 to 31, which will be inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Toba Tek Singh. In the opening matches, Lahore vs Faisalabad and Gojra vs Karachi clubs faced each other. According to the preliminary results, Lahore defeated Faisalabad 0-5 while Gojra defeated Karachi 0-2.
This festival is not only a practical example of the promotion of women’s hockey but is also proving to be a strong platform for young players to move forward.
