Srinagar: There is a complete shutterdown in occupied Kashmir on the occasion of the 9th martyrdom anniversary of Burhan Wani, he was martyred by the Indian army in Kokang.

It has been 9 years since the martyrdom of the brave Kashmiri leader Burhan Wani, who breathed new life into the freedom movement.

In August 2015, the Modi government set a bounty of Rs 1 million on the Kashmiri leader’s head and on July 8, 2016, he was martyred by the Indian army in Kokang. More than 200,000 Kashmiris attended his funeral.

After the martyrdom of the brave Kashmiri leader, widespread riots broke out in the Kashmir Valley. He is a hero to the young Kashmiri generation due to his spirit of freedom movement.

The Kashmiri leader was born on September 19, 1994, in the village of Dadasar in Pulwama. He wanted to become a doctor and scored more than 90% marks from the eighth to every class.

In 2010, Indian military personnel tortured the Kashmiri leader along with his cousin for not giving him cigarettes as a bribe. After which, fed up with the torture and police harassment, Burhan joined Hizbul Mujahideen at the age of 16.

On April 13, 2015, the Indian army brutally tortured and martyred the brother of a Kashmiri leader while in custody.
