New method of looting in Pakistan: Change in vehicle registration system, number plate will be the personal property of the owner

Islamabad: A new method of looting has been found in Pakistan. The vehicle registration system has been changed, and the number plate will be the personal property of the owner. The Excise and Taxation Department, Islamabad, has introduced an American-style model by modifying the vehicle registration system, under which the registration number will no longer be linked to a specific vehicle; instead, the number plate will be considered the personal property of the owner.

Under the new model, when a citizen buys a vehicle, he will be allotted a specific number at the time of registration, which will be linked to his National Identity Card and not to the engine or chassis number of the vehicle as was the case in the past.
The basic concept of this new system is that the registration number will no longer go with the vehicle, but its owner will be able to use that number on any new vehicle he wants. For example, if a citizen sells his current vehicle, the old number plate will remain in his possession and he will be able to reuse the same number when purchasing a new vehicle.
