London: Kashmiris’ extremely painful 6 years, former Mir Chaudhry Liaquat Ali’s participation and speech in a seminar at the Pakistan High Commission in London. Liaquat Ali MBE, Chairman, UK Pakistani Kashmiri Councillors Forum, said that we marked six painful years since 05 August 2019, when India took illegal and unilateral steps in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir—an assault on the identity, dignity, and rights of the Kashmiri people, in defiance of UN Security Council Resolutions and international law.

Since then, over 8 million Kashmiris have endured a relentless siege:
• Communications blackouts,
• Arbitrary detentions and custodial killings,
• Sexual violence and harassment,
• Targeting of youth, leaders, and human rights defenders.

This is not just a political dispute—it is a grave humanitarian crisis.

Yet, the courage and resilience of the Kashmiri people remain unbroken. Their struggle for justice and self-determination continues to inspire us all.

We call on the international community to:
• End human rights violations in IIOJK,
• Restore civil liberties and media freedoms,
• Allow international observers,
• And honour the UN promise of a free and fair plebiscite.

On behalf of the U.K. Pakistani Kashmiri Councillors, I reaffirm our unwavering solidarity with the people of Jammu & Kashmir.

Truth cannot be silenced. Justice cannot be buried. Freedom cannot be denied.
