Daily Dawn News Desk, Dawn TV Report

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference had called for observing Black Day against India’s illegal occupation in the occupied valley, given which, a complete strike and business centers were closed in the occupied valley.

Hurriyat leaders have said in their message that the Kashmiri people should send a strong message to India that they reject its occupation, India has no legal or moral right to celebrate its Independence Day in occupied Kashmir.

Hurriyat leaders say that India’s occupation of Kashmir is a clear violation of international laws and UN resolutions.

The occupying army imposed strict restrictions in twenty districts and violated the sanctity of the charatar char devar during house-to-house searches.

Despite the heavy presence of Indian troops in occupied Kashmir, Kashmiris displayed Thanksgiving Day posters and Pakistani flags on the occasion of India’s Independence Day. Along with this, pictures of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal and Field Marshal Asim Munir were also displayed, on which the text of Operation Bunyan Marsus was written.

Despite the harshness of the Indian army in different areas of occupied Kashmir, the Kashmiri people kept their morale high on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day. People further strengthened the freedom struggle by hoisting the Pakistani flag and raising their voices strongly against Indian occupation.

Despite all the harshness and restrictions of the Indian government and army, the spirit of freedom of the Kashmiri people in occupied Kashmir did not diminish, and the Indian strategy faced another defeat. On the appeal of the Hurriyat Conference, protests against Indian occupation are continuing in the valley with a new determination.
