Direct flights to the UK will not start: PIAT fails to obtain the TCO license

London: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) failed to obtain a TCO license to start direct flights from Pakistan to the UK, while a license has been issued to a private airline.

The British Department of DFT has issued a third-country operation license to private airline Airblue for the issue of direct flights from Pakistan to the UK.

PIA has confirmed that the national airline has failed to obtain a TCO license.

Sources told Dr. Akhtar Gulfam that the national airline PIA is facing a shortage of aircraft, while Airblue’s Airbus 320 aircraft will go to the UK after refueling in Turkey.

Sources further said that Airbus 320 and 321 aircraft will be used for the UK.
