Kuwait, Dubai, Qatar: Kuwait’s Defense Ministry has said that several US warplanes crashed in Kuwait on Monday morning, but their crews survived.

A Defense Ministry spokesman said in a statement that ‘several US warplanes crashed this morning. All crew members survived. The statement further noted that an investigation into the cause of the crash is currently underway.

The statement added that ‘authorities immediately launched search and rescue operations, rescued the crew and transferred them to the hospital for medical examination and treatment. Their condition is stable.

Kuwaiti officials added that they had contacted US forces directly to assess the situation and take joint technical measures.

The statement came hours after Iran’s state-run Islamic Republic News Agency reported that a US F-15 fighter jet had been shot down in Kuwait. The claim could not be independently verified.

A video was also circulating on social media showing a plane crashing.

Meanwhile, the AFP news agency reported on Monday that black smoke was seen rising above the US embassy, ​​while the diplomatic mission had advised people not to approach the building. The attacks by Iran on the Gulf region continued for a third day.

Earlier, sirens sounded in the city as Iran responded to the US and Israeli attacks with fresh missiles and drones.

The AP quoted Kuwait’s defence ministry as saying that “several” US warplanes had crashed in the country, with all crews safe.

The embassy did not announce that it had been targeted, according to AFP, but issued a security alert advising people to stay away. “There is a continuing threat of missile and UAV attacks on Kuwait. Do not come to the embassy,” the statement added.

“US embassy staff are in shelters,” the statement added.
