Daily Dawn Correspondent + Dawn TV Report

Witford: Welcome to the All-Party Conference to be held in Mirpur. Steps should be taken to establish a judicial commission in the All-Party Conference to raise the Kashmir issue in the International Court of Justice. Now is the time to set a roadmap for resolving the Kashmir issue. The All-Party Conference should hold simultaneous elections on both sides of Jammu and Kashmir to eliminate the ceasefire line. The services of the International Court of Justice should be sought to allow people to meet and trade, steps should be taken to establish a joint assembly on both sides of the state under UN Resolution 1. Under UN Resolutions, there is no restriction on the people of Kashmir from moving between the two sides of the state. A UN peacekeeping force should be deployed inside the state. The Pakistan government has a responsibility to seek the services of the International Court of Justice and the United Nations for the establishment of a united assembly on both sides of the state and for expanding the scope of the elections to be held in Azad Kashmir next year to include occupied Kashmir. The services of the United Nations should be sought to convene a tripartite conference to resolve the Kashmir issue. These views were expressed by prominent Kashmiri leader and former president of the Kashmir Coordination Committee, Chaudhry Muhammad Azeem. Chaudhry Muhammad Azeem said that to fundamentally thwart India’s nefarious intentions, it is necessary to adopt a new strategy to expand the scope of the elections to be held in Azad Kashmir next year. The Foreign Office should take steps to convene a meeting of Kashmiri parties.
