Rome: Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has confirmed that she and other cabinet ministers have been charged with aiding Israel in the genocide of Palestinians by providing weapons to it at the International Criminal Court.
According to Italian sources, about 50 lawyers, legal experts and prominent figures filed the case on October 1. Prime Minister Meloni said that, along with him, Defense Minister Guido Crocetto and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani have also been sued.
The case calls on the International Criminal Court to investigate Italy and take action against those responsible. The Italian government has taken the position that the provision of weapons to Israel was done under existing international agreements and did not allow their use against civilians.
